About this repository

A place to put research where people can find it, from the day it is ready rather than the year a journal gets round to it.

Cornerstone Preprints is run by Cornerstone University and Theological Seminary, Cameroon. It holds preprints: complete pieces of work, posted by their authors, that have not been through peer review.

What that means

A journal sends a paper to independent experts who judge whether the work stands up, and prints it once they are satisfied. This repository does not do that, and does not claim to. What you read here is what its authors wrote, checked only for the things described on the screening page.

That is not a gap we are apologising for. It is the model arXiv and SSRN have used for decades, and it exists because useful work should be readable while it is still useful. It does mean the responsibility for judging a paper sits with you, the reader, rather than with us.

Why it costs something

Screening takes a person's time, hosting takes money, and keeping a paper available for decades takes a commitment. The fee pays for those. It does not buy acceptance, and no amount of money will get a submission past screening.

Peer review, later

We intend to add a reviewed track, where work that wants the scrutiny can have it. Until that exists, nothing here has had it, and every page says so.
